Veteran Application

You must submit your DD214 with your application.  You can scan and email it to veterans@honorflightsefl.org or mail it to Southeast Florida Honor Flight, PO Box 1503, Stuart, FL 34995.

Please read this page before filling out your application.

Dear United States Military Veteran,

Honor Flight recognizes you for your sacrifices and military service to our nation by flying you to Washington, DC to see your memorials at no cost to you. Honor Flight is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization that provides veterans like you a trip of a lifetime. Our objective is to ensure a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience to as many veterans as possible.

In order to accomplish this goal, we provide a trained guardian to accompany each veteran on the trip. Guardians provide companionship and any assistance necessary to keep you comfortable and worry-free. Please consider this a small token of appreciation for what you and your brothers-in-arms have given to keep our country free.

Once you have submitted your application below, your name is placed on a waiting list. We call veterans for the next scheduled Honor Flight in chronological order of US wars/conflicts. First priority is given to WWII veterans and those veterans with a terminal diagnosis from a physician. Korean and Vietnam War veterans are called by date of application received. We have a 1+ year waiting list for Vietnam veterans. Please submit your application as soon as possible!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Southeast Florida Honor Flight is an all-volunteer organization. We receive hundreds of emails and phone calls each month. We do our best to respond to each of them in a timely manner; however, please understand we have limited manpower. If you contact us, expect some delay in our response. If submitting your application online, you will receive an email notification confirming our receipt. We do not call you to confirm receipt of a mail-in application. If you want to check your status at any time, please call or send us an email at veterans@honorflightsefl.org.

  • It is tradition and policy that we assign every veteran a guardian who will act as an escort/buddy to you, and who has been specially trained by Honor Flight. The guardians pay their own way to spend the day with you. They are amazing, every day Americans who think so highly of you and your military service, they want to give back in this special way. Your spouse or significant other cannot serve as your guardian for the day; however, a son, daughter, grandchild, etc., may serve as your guardian. Guardians are an integral part of our team. Without them, Honor Flight would not be possible. If you have a family member who might be interested in being your guardian, they will need to read about being a guardian, pay the fee and attend the mandatory 3-hour training. Those details can be found here. They will need to meet the requirements and complete the guardian application on this website.

  • Whether or not you served in combat, we honor ALL veterans who served our nation during times of war during dates listed on the application.
