Volunteering with Southeast Florida Honor Flight has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I flew as a Guardian in 2019 and was absolutely blown away. Getting to meet and speak to veterans during the day in DC and observe the Honor Flight volunteers in action let me know that this was an organization that was truly dedicated to their mission of honoring veterans.
PETER PETRELIS
Vice Chairman
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as Vice Chairman with the Southeast Florida Honor Flight program. Once I retired from Navy service it was my desire to “give back” to the community and organizations which support those who have served. One of my passions is working with Junior ROTC High School Units and Sea Cadet Units, and now with the Honor Flight program. It is a privilege to serve with the Southeast Florida team and a program I strongly believe in!

I am proud to be a part of this great team of volunteers. I feel that I am honoring my Dad, a humble WWII Army veteran who never got to see the WWII memorial, by giving my time to this outstanding cause. It’s an absolute honor to walk and talk with ‘history’ – the men and ladies who sacrificed to serve our grand country.

Treasurer
I first heard about Honor Flight when a veteran friend of mine went on a flight a few years ago and so applied to be a Guardian and was hooked. The experience of giving back to our brave veterans through serving as a Guardian and volunteer has been very fulfilling, and I am proud to be part of a team of extremely dedicated and hardworking volunteers.

As a daughter and niece of both WWII and Korean War veterans, I have the utmost respect for the sacrifices made by those who have served our great nation. Having the pleasure of being part of the Southeast Florida Honor Flight family has also given me the ability to honor our veterans and to personally thank them for their service when I have been given the opportunity to spend their incredible Honor Flight day with them.

It is my privilege to volunteer for this amazing organization and connect with veterans throughout our community. It is rewarding to see how the efforts of all our volunteers has a direct impact on our ability to fly our local heroes to our Nation’s Capitol. Southeast Florida Honor Flight has made and will continue to a make lasting memories for our veterans. I am just glad to be a small part of it.

I first became involved with southeast Florida Honor Flight in 2013. I was at an event which showed the Honor Flight movie right then and there I knew I wanted to be part of this organization. I was a guardian for three World War II veterans and had an amazing time with each one of them. It was life-changing, when you realized all the sacrifices, and what really happened to change the course of history, the mission became even more sacred. I continue to volunteer as a bus captain on many flights. I wrote the thank you notes for all donations for several years and did mail call for quite a while too. Each task is so important and has made this organization what it is by everyone contributing their time and talents. I am so proud and pleased to be a board member.

I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve as a member at large with the SE Florida Honor flight program. I first became involved with Honor Flight as I traveled to Washington DC as a Vietnam veteran. I was so impressed on how my fellow veterans were treated and the professionalism that this team shows to each and everyone; I was hooked. I made the decision to become a volunteer of this truly outstanding organization. I feel privileged to be serving on the board of this marvelous organization and will continue to volunteer whenever possible. This is one of the best decisions I ever made

Having grown up in the turbulent Vietnam Era, it is a blessing to be part of Southeast Florida Honor Flight where our veterans receive the appreciation and welcome home that was given to previous generations of warriors. It is truly my honor to serve on the Board with so many dedicated volunteers.
