After my first flight as a Guardian, I was so impressed with how the Veterans were treated…like rock stars….and the efficiency and professionalism that this team brings to each flight and each veteran, I was hooked. I made the decision that I had to do something to help make this happen for other veterans and other guardians. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Because this is a 100% volunteer organization, I liked knowing that 100% of my efforts for this cause was going towards "Keeping Them Flying”!

I am proud to be a part of this great team of volunteers. I feel that I am honoring my Dad, a humble WWII Army veteran who never got to see the WWII memorial, by giving my time to this outstanding cause. It's an absolute honor to walk and talk with 'history' - the men and ladies who sacrificed to serve our grand country.

I went on an Honor Flight and loved everything about it. I was looking to get involved with an organization that honored our veterans and went to a meeting. I was so impressed with how business was conducted and the dedication of the Board, and knew this was where I wanted to be involved and I have zero regrets. The relationships that are forged, with both veterans and volunteers, are priceless.

I have seen the graves of our soldiers in Normandy; I have listened to veteran stories from Medal of Honor recipients to mess cooks; I have met those without freedom; I have seen those who possess it who do not even fathom the gift. It all says to me, Treasure Your Freedom. Honor Flight is a way to do that. Honor Flight allows me the opportunity to continually thank those who have laid down their lives for our nation and our freedom. Besides honoring our veterans, I love seeing how Honor Flight touches the lives of all those involved.

As a daughter and niece of both WWII and Korean War veterans, I have the utmost respect for the sacrifices made by those who have served our great nation. Having the pleasure of being part of the Southeast Florida Honor Flight family has also given me the ability to honor our veterans and to personally thank them for their service when I have been given the opportunity to spend their incredible Honor Flight day with them.

It is my privilege to volunteer for this amazing organization and connect with veterans throughout our community. It is rewarding to see how the efforts of all our volunteers has a direct impact on our ability to fly our local heroes to our Nation’s Capitol. Southeast Florida Honor Flight has made and will continue to a make lasting memories for our veterans. I am just glad to be a small part of it.

Patriotism runs deep in my family. My grandfather fought in France during WWI. My father was a WWII veteran and went on an Honor Flight. It was a day of extraordinary experiences that he cherished for the rest of his life. My husband and I are veterans, and our son is serving now. I love honoring our nation's veterans through being involved in our local hub.

Served Southeast Florida Honor Flight from 2009 to 2019. I joined Honor Flight in 2009 as a guardian. My first veteran went ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day. Spending that day with him changed my life and Honor Flight became a calling. We live in a wonderful country - our military veterans make it all possible. I just wanted to thank as many of them as possible.
